What you paste into a tool

Every format, validate, convert, diff, and decode operation on this site runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste into any tool — JSON, YAML, XML, Base64 text, URLs, JWTs, anything — is ever transmitted to a server. There is no server-side processing of tool content at all; this isn't a policy choice we could quietly change, it's how the site is built. You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, use any tool, and watch the network tab stay empty.

If what you're working with is sensitive

We know some of what gets pasted into these tools is sensitive — API keys, internal config, customer records, contract text. We're not going to claim this site is "HIPAA compliant" or "PHI/PII compliant" — those are specific legal and regulatory statuses that depend on signed agreements, audits, and a formal compliance program, not just how a website is built, and it would be misleading to claim them without all of that in place.

What we can say plainly, and what you can verify yourself, is narrower and just as important: the content you paste into a tool is never sent over the network. There's no API endpoint receiving it, no server-side log capturing it, no database storing it. The processing happens in your browser, using your device's own resources, and the result never leaves that tab unless you copy it out yourself. If your own policies require that certain data never be sent to a third party, that's a claim this architecture can actually back up — open the network tab and check, on this page or any tool page.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which tools are used and how much traffic the site gets. GA4 collects standard usage data: pages visited, approximate location (derived from IP address, not precise), device and browser type, and referral source. It does not have access to what you type or paste into any tool — that data never leaves your browser in the first place, so there's nothing for analytics to see.

Currently, analytics runs by default for all visitors, without asking first. This is a temporary state: we're measuring baseline traffic for a few weeks since the site is new and we have no prior data to work from. Before this, and again afterward, analytics only runs after you explicitly accept a cookie/analytics banner — we don't load any tracking script until you say yes. If you'd prefer not to be tracked in the meantime, your browser's tracking-protection or ad-blocking settings will stop the Google Analytics script from loading, same as on any other site.

What's stored in your browser

A small amount of data is stored locally in your browser (via localStorage), never sent anywhere:

  • Your light/dark theme preference.
  • Your analytics consent choice, once you've made one.

Advertising

This site does not currently show any ads. Ad placements exist in the page layout as visual placeholders only, with no live ad code — they're reserved for a possible future where ads help cover hosting costs. If that changes, this policy will be updated first, and any ad network we use (e.g. Google AdSense) will have its own data practices disclosed here.

Accounts and personal data

There are no user accounts, no sign-up, and no login on this site. We don't collect names, email addresses, or any other personal information as part of using the tools — that stays true regardless of what you paste into any converter, validator, or decoder.

The one exception is if you use the Contact page: the name, email, and message you type there are sent directly to us by email so we can reply. They aren't written to a database — this site still has none — so there's no persistent store of contact messages beyond that email. Please don't include sensitive personal or financial details in a contact message.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle data changes — for example, when the analytics consent banner returns, or if ads are introduced — this page will be updated to reflect it, with the "Last updated" date above changed accordingly.

This is a placeholder policy, not reviewed by a lawyer. It's accurate to how the site actually works today, but it hasn't been through legal review and shouldn't be treated as sufficient on its own for compliance purposes.
