Terms of Service
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This is a placeholder set of terms, not reviewed by a lawyer. It hasn't been through legal review and shouldn't be treated as sufficient on its own, particularly the liability disclaimer below.
Using this site
By using FormatTools, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. There's no account to create and nothing to sign — using any tool here means you accept these terms as they stand at the time.
What this service is
FormatTools provides free, client-side developer utilities — JSON/YAML/XML formatting and conversion, Base64 and URL encoding/decoding, and JWT decoding. All processing happens in your browser; nothing you paste in is transmitted to or stored on any server. See our Privacy Policy for details.
No warranty
These tools are provided "as is," with no guarantee of accuracy, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Formatting and conversion bugs are possible, especially on unusual or malformed input. Don't rely on this site as the sole check for anything where correctness matters a great deal — verify important output yourself, particularly before using it in production systems.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FormatTools and its operator aren't liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site.
Acceptable use
Don't use this site for anything illegal, don't attempt to disrupt or overload the service, and don't try to circumvent any technical limitations put in place (e.g. large-file handling thresholds). Reasonable personal and professional use of the tools is exactly what this site is for.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. The "Last updated" date above will change whenever that happens.
